【摘要】:Thebendingfatiguetestdescribedinthistestmethodprovidesinformationontheabilityofacopperalloyflat-springmaterialtoresistthedevelopmentofcracksorgeneralmechanicaldeteriorationasaresultofarelativelylargenumberofcycles(generallyintherange105to108)underconditionsofconstantdisplacement.Thistestmethodisprimarilyaresearchanddevelopmenttoolwhichmaybeusedtodeterminetheeffectofvariationsinmaterialsonfatiguestrengthandalsotoprovidedataforuseinselectingcopperalloyspringmaterialsforserviceunderconditionsofrepeatedstraincycling.Theresultsaresuitablefordirectapplicationindesignonlywhenalldesignfactorssuchasloading,geometryofpart,frequencyofstraining,andenvironmentalconditionsareknown.Thetestmethodisgenerallyunsuitableforaninspectiontestoraqualitycontroltestduetotheamountoftimeandeffortrequiredtocollectthedata.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresforthedeterminationofthereversedorrepeatedbendingfatiguepropertiesofcopperalloyflat-sheetorstrip-springmaterialsbyfixedcantilever,constantdeflection(thatis,constantamplitudeofdisplacement)-typetestingmachines.Thismethodislimitedtoflatstockranginginthicknessfrom0.005to0.062in.(0.13to1.57mm),toafatigue-liferangeof105to108cycles,andtoconditionswherenosignificantchangeinstress-strainrelationsoccursduringthetest.Note18212;Thisimpliesthattheload-deflectioncharacteristicsofthematerialdonotchangeasafunctionofthenumberofcycleswithintheprecisionofmeasurement.Thereisnosignificantcyclichardeningorsoftening.1.2Units8212;Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thefollowingsafetyhazardcaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethods(s)describedinthistestmethod.1.3.1Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
