【摘要】:Theprincipalunderlyingthetestisthesensitivityoftheelectricalcontactinterfacetotemperatureandhumiditycyclingthatelectricalpressureconnectionsystemsexperienceasaresultofusageandinstallationenvironment.Thetemperaturecyclingmaycausemicromotionatthematingelectricalcontactsurfaceswhichcanexposefreshmetaltothelocalambientatmosphere.Thehumidityexposureisknowntofacilitatecorrosiononfreshlyexposedmetalsurfaces.Thus,forthoseconnectionsystemsthatdonotmaintainstablemetal-to-metalcontactsurfacesundertheconditionofthermalcyclingandhumidityexposure,repeatedsequencesoftheseexposuresleadtodegradationofthecontactingsurfaceindicatedbypotentialdropincrease.Thetestisofshortdurationrelativetotheexpectedlifeofconnectionsinresidentialusage.Stabilityofconnectionresistanceimpliesresistancetodeteriorationduetoenvironmentalconditionsencounteredinresidentialservice.Increasingconnectionresistanceasaresultofthetestexposureindicatesdeteriorationofelectricalcontactinterfaces.Assuranceoflongtermreliabilityandsafetyofconnectiontypesthatdeterioraterequiresfurtherevaluationforspecificspecifiedenvironmentsandapplications.Use8212;Itisrecommendedthatthistestmethodbeusedinoneoftwoways.First,itmaybeusedtoevaluateandreporttheperformanceofaparticularconnectionsystem.Forsuchuse,itisappropriatetoreporttheresultsinasummary(ortabular)formatsuchasshowninSection18,togetherwiththestatementx201C;Theresultsshowninthesummary(ortable)wereobtainedfor(insertdescriptionofconnection)whentestedinaccordancewithTestMethodB812.Second,itmaybeusedasthebasisforspecificationofacceptabilityofproduct.Forthisuse,theminimumtesttimeandthemaximumallowableincreaseinpotentialdropmustbeestablishedbythespecifier.Specificationofconnectionsystemsinaccordancewiththisuseofthestandardtestmethodwouldbeoftheform:x201C;Themaximumpotentialdropincreaseforanyconnection,whentestedinaccordancewithTestMethodB812foraperiodofweeks,shallbemVrelativetothereferenceconnections.x201D;Connectionsystemsthataremostresistanttothermal-cycle/humiditydeterioration,withinthelimitationsofdeterminationbythistestmethod,shownoincreaseinpotentialdrop,relativetothereferenceconnections,whentestedforindefinitetime.Connectionsthatarelessresistanttothermal-cycle/humidityconditionsappliedbythistestwilldemonstrateprogressiveincreasesinpotentialdropwithincreasingtimeontest.Thus,thefollowingexamplesofspecificationsareintheorderofmoststringent(No.1)toleaststringent(No.3).
